Balance of Power is delighted to announce the formalisation of its partnership with the Diocese of Banks and Torres (DOBT), under the Anglican Church of Melanesia in Vanuatu.
This is the first time that DOBT has entered a partnership relationship with secular /non-religious organisations and Balance of Power is honoured to be a part of this historical milestone.
The Right Reverend Bishop Anthony Ling, who was recently elected as Bishop of DOBT said, “There are a large number of Anglicans and a large number of our people in Torba province, and so we need better leaders. We need more capable people to lead our communities. As the Bishop of Banks and Torres, I see the partnership between DOBT and BOP as very important. It’s very significant to the work that the Church is carrying out.”

The President of the Torba Provincial Government Council, Honourable Edgar Howard was also present and expressed his gratitude for this partnership.
“I know the partnership will help DOBT a lot, not just in dealing with all their Christian duties that come from the Diocese but also with the other services that they provide. Because they work a lot out in the rural areas with our local communities.”
Under Bishop Anthony Ling’s leadership, DOBT is committed to supporting leadership development across the province, including supporting women to exercise their leadership potential, as equal members of the body of Christ.
Through this collaboration, in conjunction with the Vanuatu Skills Partnership and the Department of Women’s Affairs, BOP hopes to help strengthen leadership skills and promote the value of men and women working together for Vanuatu’s prosperity.
End.
